THE PURPOSE AND EXPECTATIONS OF THE COURSE
Complete 2-3 projects of your own and at least 2-3 of my listed projects per quarter for an 'A'. If you complete less than that I will grade you based on the quality and level of work you complete. Quality is as important as anything in your projects. Make sure you are growing, not doing easy stuff. 5 weak projects are not worth an 'A', do your best. WHEN, not IF you get stuck on a step, figure it out. If you know another way to do the same thing, do it. The main purpose of this course is for you to become capable of overcoming problems, because no one will pay you to hold your hand in a job some day. THINK through problems. Ask each other for help, ask Google, use the Help menu, work through it...then come talk to me if needed. You need to become resourceful, not helpless. If you can't hack this concept then you might be asked to switch out in January or sooner.
1st-3rd Quarter - Teacher and Student selected projects
This is your last quarter, you select your FINAL 5 projects of DM 2. Do your very best work in whichever application you want. Be creative and open to growth!
// Course Description - 1st: 8:00-8:45, 2nd: 8:50-9:30, 4th: 10:35-11:20
This is a full year class that will focus on professional projects in Photoshop, Illustrator and other design software. The overall purpose will be to create projects that would be applicable to real world needs. Examples are packaging design, website layout design, App layout design, web/magazine ad design and more.
Quarter Note: Assignments may start in one quarter, but will be finished in another, so the grade will count in the finishing quarter. In the case of this class and its loose due dates, we will have quarter cutoffs for what needs to be done by the end of the quarter. Participation points will be given daily or weekly (in additon to assignment points IF NEEDED) in the later quarters as projects span over days and weeks.
